CRISP

go sox

like most trades, this one is definitely a "wait and see" deal. IF crisp plays solid defense in center and hits .300 over the next three years for the sox, it was probably a good deal. the sox have enough money to replace the unproven talent we might have had in marte through free agency. crisp is a proven talent and will contribute immediately. in the damon-to-crisp transition, we will lose runs scored on offense, but we will allow less runs on defense because crisp has a much better arm than damon. let us not forget that opposing players went from first to third on almost every hit to damon's left or right. that will not happen with crisp.
